Nepenthes merrilliana is a giant lowland species from the Phillipines while Nepenthes aristolochioides is an exacting highlander that has some of the most bizarre lobster trap style pitchers in the genus. The cross results in a vigorous and temperature tolerant hybrid that attains pitchers with a large size but also has the
